Yangtze River middle reaches: Highlights of strategic emerging industries

A new generation of information technology: focusing on the development of optoelectronic information, new displays, integrated circuits, next-generation networks, application electronics, information services and satellite navigation applications. A cluster of optoelectronic information industry will be established. Led by Wuhan East Lake National High-tech Development Zone, the region will gather enterprises in surrounding areas of Changsha, Nanchang to construct a cluster of optoelectronic information industry.

High-end equipment manufacturing: promoting the cooperation and division of labor among Wuhan, Nanchang, Changsha and Zhuzhou in the development of high-end CNC equipment and system, laser processing equipment, aviation manufacturing, power transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing, industrial robots, mid-to-high-end engineering machinery equipment and high-end electric power rail transit equipment and core parts manufacturing. Relevant resources in Wuhan, Fuyang, Jingmen, Zhuzhou, Nanchang, Jingdezhen and Jiujiang will be utilized integrated to develop local aviation manufacturing industry and general aviation industry.

New materials: the development of new materials such as electronic materials, biological and environmentally friendly materials, rare earth permanent magnets materials and new chemical materials will be further boosted on top of the existing industrial bases in Wuhan, Yichang, Huangshi, Changsha, Yueyang, Yiyang Nanchang and a few more cities in Jiangxi province.

Biology: bolstered by the national bio-industry bases in Wuhan, Yichang, Changsha, Hengyang, Nanchang and Fuzhou, the alliance of production, education and research in biological and new pharmaceutical industries will be forged. High-quality medicinal material production bases in Huanggang, Yushu Zhangshu and Yuanzhou will also be constructed to boost local biomedical industry.

Energy conservation and environmental protection: strengthening the research, development and manufacturing of major technologies, equipment and systems in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection.

New energy: accelerating the development of solar energy, wind energy and other new energy equipment manufacturing in cities with industrial bases such as Yichang, Huanggang, Xianning, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. The shale gas exploration and development in cities such as Xianning, Jingzhou, Yichang and Yueyang will be advanced. Major key technological breakthroughs and the course of equipment autonomy are largely encouraged.

New energy vehicles: accelerate the research, development and industrialization of new energy vehicles in Wuhan, Xiangyang, Changsha, Zhuzhou, Nanchang and Yichun. The integration of production, education and research will be promoted; battery and lithium carbonate materials production bases will be built; new energy vehicles including hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles will be produced.
