Established under the approval of the State Council in October, 2012, Hengyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone started running in September 2014, and is the first of its kind in Hunan province.

Located in the south of Hengyang, Hunan province, the zone enjoys a three-dimensional transportation network. It is 10 minutes to Dingjiaqiao Port, as well as 15 minutes to Hengyang Nanyue Airport and Hengyang East High-speed Railway Station.

Covering a planning area of 2.57 square kilometers, the zone is now home to 23 registered enterprises. Viewed as a highland for promoting Hengyang’s export-oriented economy, the zone is a special area supervised by Customs with high-level of openness, preferential policies, and simplified customs clearance procedures. Over the past few years, the zone has set up an industrial system with local characteristics to develop its leading industries, namely electronic information, trade logistics, and advanced equipment manufacturing.

In 2017, the import and export trade value of the zone amounted to $324 million, a year-on-year growth of 1348.5 percent, the highest growth rate in Hunan. The total import and export volume of general trade reached $304 million, ranking third in the province.
