Construction on the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway will begin this year, according to Guangdong Provincial Railway Construction Investment Group Co Ltd.
Stretching 412.7 kilometers, the rail line will run through Guangzhou, Foshan, Yunfu, Yangjiang, and Maoming before terminating in Zhanjiang. It is designed to support a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour, faster than that of the current Jiangmen-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway.
Once put into operation, the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway will allow people to travel from Zhanjiang and Yangjiang to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in just 60 to 90 minutes.
