Last year, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway were opened and a series of innovative initiatives including entry and exit endorsements, talents settlement, and Guangdong-HongKong-Macaovehicle exchanges were introduced. This created a sound environment to facilitate the exchange of Hong Kong, Macao and mainland residents. The connected and efficient infrastructure was gradually formed.
To build a world-class bay area and a world-class city cluster, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area must accelerate their infrastructure construction. However, it is also necessary to accelerate the three-site system and mechanism connection to promote the flow of all kinds of resources.
At the end of 2017, Guangdong Public Security announced 18 measures to serve the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, covering entry and exit visas, vehicle entry and exit, border customs clearance inspection, high-level talent settlement, firefighting services, and police cooperation.
At the end of last year, a new batch of 35 measures was introduced to further enhance the sense of gain, happiness and security of residents in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
National Immigration Bureau has developed an entry and exit identity certification service platform capable of providing authoritative, unified and credible identity authentication services for government departments, enterprises, and social service organizations.
Nine-city enterprises in Greater Bay Area can now use the online filing system. Time limit for the payment of social security has been shortened from six months to three months, and the quota for personnel filing has increased. Now it is more convenient to conduct business activities in the area.
The Provincial Public Security Department has also relaxed the conditions of car application for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port passage. Hong Kong and Macao's new vehicles entering the Chinese mainland are currently exempt from inspection within the same six-year period as mainland vehicles. Besides, the related car business can be handled in a WeChat small program.
In order to improve the high-speed network in the Greater Bay Area and realize the one-hour access between major cities, the Provincial Department of Transportation said that it will upgrade and consolidate the congested sections in the core area and improve the traffic capacity.
In addition, it will promote the interactive transportation development among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and the connection of existing transportation networks and port-based cross-border transportation infrastructure.
It will extend the road network of the Pearl River Delta to Hong Kong and Macao to complete the road connection work between the two places.
