A conference on Inner Mongolia's development of science and technology was held in Hohhot, the capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Feb 26 to review achievements of the previous year and set up objectives for 2019.
In 2018, Inner Mongolia's special expenditures on science and technology increased by 34 percent, and the number of high-tech enterprises increased by 41.7 percent compared with 2017.
In addition, the number of patent applications and authorizations in the region increased by 40.4 percent and 53.5 percent respectively.
In 2019, Inner Mongolia will strengthen medium and long-term strategic planning for technology development, offer more support for critical technologies and technology innovation, advance the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and cultivate more talent to support related industries.
In addition, Inner Mongolia plans to construct more parks or bases for relevant enterprises and institutions, deepen reforms of its technology system, promote exchanges and cooperation on science and technology, and conduct more investment for technology innovation.
