A bus driver who calls out the stops in both Chinese and English is warmly welcomed in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province.
Driver Wang Qiang began to learn English on his own since he found there are quite a number of foreigners on the bus, whose route includes the railway station and several commercial areas, the places that are attractive to foreign tourists.
The 36-year-old just took the job two months ago.
"I thought it would be a promotion of the level of service if the drivers could provide bilingual service," Wang said.
With a little knowledge of English learned at junior college, Wang has learned the grammar and pronunciation and practiced through an English-learning website.
"Sometimes when foreigners hear my English, they will talk more with me, which makes me feel quite happy," the driver said proudly.
