Handan city in North China's Hebei province, about 450 kilometers southwest of Beijing, has become a popular destination with favorable conditions in traffic and industries, leading more companies to transfer there from Beijing and Tianjin.
The integrated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was initiated on Feb 26, 2014. On the fifth anniversary of the great regional plan, the area has seen rapid growth, especially in economic cooperation. Handan, one of its major cities, has attracted and received 202 projects from Beijing and Tianjin with a total investment of 400 billion yuan ($59.8 billion), according to the city bureau responsible for promoting the integrated growth.
The projects mainly involve the manufacturing of advanced equipment and food processing, as well as some emerging industries, like new energy and new materials, the city bureau responsible for promoting the integrated growth added.
"The transportation here is convenient, with easy access to the regional traffic network and the area has complete supporting industries for our development," Yan Ziyang, production director at Jinghua Park Machinery Equipment Co Ltd, was quoted as saying by Hebei Daily.
The company, a manufacturer of polyurethane equipment once located in Beijing's Daxing district, moved to Handan Ji'nan New Area in 2017.
The new area is one of the three sites that Handan has constructed as special platforms to receive manufacturing companies from Beijing and Tianjin.
Headquartered in Beijing, Sinoma Wind Power Blade Co Ltd - a professional wind power blade manufacturer - established a production base in the area in 2016 with an investment of one billion yuan ($149.2 million).
It is a great chance for Handan to upgrade the city's heavy industries, according to the city's bureau for promoting the integrated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.
