Shenyang businesses seek international cooperation

Shenyang sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade will organize brand name enterprises in the city to attend 56 international exhibitions and trade fairs in 2019, in order to help local businesses expand their export activities and explore the international market, according to information from a press conference held by Shenyang government news office on Feb 20.

Zhao Kai, president of the Shenyang Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that Shenyang has abundant industrial resources and outstanding processing advantages, while its export volume is weak. 

Selected enterprises are representatives of Shenyang's industries, including machinery processing, building materials, robotics, agricultural products and service trade. Promoting the export of building materials, machinery and agricultural products is the focus of the activity.

Taking into account factors of regional distribution, exhibition scale and Shenyang businesses' market share, Shenyang will organize businesses to attend 21 international exhibitions and trade fairs held in Asia, 17 events in Europe, six events in North America and five events in Africa.

Sino-Russian Special Agricultural Products Food Expo, Kazakhstan International Building Materials Exhibition, South Africa International Import Expo, Saudi-China Trade Week, and American Biotechnology Conference and Expo are on the attending list.

Shenyang Council for the Promotion of International Trade will serve as a platform to boost international trade with overseas markets, Zhao said.

Efforts from previous years have paid off. In 2018, a total of 32 Shenyang enterprises were organized to attend international exhibitions and trade fairs, achieving a turnover of more than 43 million yuan ($6.40 million).
