People in Yangzhou, East China’s Jiangsu province, do not live a rushed life and prefer a slow tempo, starting their day with a nice breakfast.

Zaocha, or early breakfast tea, for example, is the most distinguished one and is something of an institution in the city. It is an early-morning meal with delicious small treats, or dim sums and hot tea.

Various kinds of breakfast can be seen in Yangzhou. Besides zaocha, dry noodles, wonton and fried pancakes are some of the most common and easy breakfasts.

Here is some more information.

Dry noodles

Yangzhou people love dry noodles with soy source. For many of the natives, the delicacy of Yangzhou is not fried rice or scalded tofu shreds, both of which are popular among tourists, but a bowl of cheap and delicious dry noodles in the morning.
