Huangpu to become Guangdong's first 5G demonstration district

Huangpu district held a conference on S&T innovation and business on Feb 22, revealing that new policies and projects related to the 5G industry and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Guangzhou will be carried out within the year.

At the conference, the person in charge of the District Bureau of Science and Technology Innovation and the District Bureau of Economy and Information Technology made a speech to address the new year's work plan.

In 2019, Huangpu pledges to begin construction of the Guangdong comprehensive national science center and ensure the construction of the Guangzhou College of CAS.

Huangpu will also accelerate the promulgation of a series of policies related to the 5G industry. Accordingly, Huangpu was designated a National New Industrialization (Intelligent Equipment) Industrial Demonstration Base in 2018, and is on its way to becoming the first provincial demonstration district of the Internet of Things and Smart City oriented to 5G Technology.
