Hohhot in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region came sixth on CCTV's annual ranking of happiest cities in China that released on Feb 22.
The city has been honored as one of the top 10 happiest cities for four years in a row.
Other cities made onto the list were Nanjing, Changsha, Hefei, Guangzhou, Kunming, Chongqing, Haikou, Zhengzhou and Yinchuan.
CCTV surveyed 100,000 households on the sense of fulfillment, security and happiness through offline questionnaires. It also worked with nearly 20 experts and scholars from economic and social study circles to establish an evaluation system for the ranking.
The final result will be broadcast in prime time in CCTV's finance and economics channel on March 7th during the two sessions, the annual gathering of the nation's top legislature and its top body of political advisers.
