Quzhou political consultative conference commences

The third Plenary Session of the seventh Quzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Feb 24 and will run until Feb 27.

More than 300 CPPCC members from all walks of life participated in the conference to deliberate and discuss the report by the Standing Committee of the CPPCC Quzhou Municipal Committee and make suggestions for deliberations.

Xu Wenguang, secretary of the CPC Quzhou Municipal Party Committee, addressed the meeting at the opening ceremony.

Xu affirmed the achievements made by the CPPCC Quzhou Municipal Committee over the past year, noting that the CPPCC Quzhou committees at all levels did their best to serve social development, offer advice and improve themselves in 2018.

He encouraged these CPPCC members to continue performing their duties in participation in and deliberation of state affairs and making contributions in their own works.

Wu Guosheng, chairman of the seventh Quzhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, reported on the work of the standing committee of the seventh Quzhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC.

Under the leadership of Quzhou Municipal Party Committee, the CPPCC Quzhou municipal committee offered suggestions on constructing a vigorous and beautiful Quzhou, enhanced local residents' happiness and promoted the high-quality development of their daily work, said Wu at the conference.

He added that in 2019 the CPPCC Quzhou municipal committee will proceed with the construction of a vigorous and beautiful garden city.
