Shenyang is an important industrial center in China and is the core city of the Shenyang Economic Zone. The city, with its solid industrial base and complete industrial categories, is a national center dominated by the equipment manufacturing industry. After decades of development, the number of industrial categories in Shenyang has reached 142. 

Hosting companies in various sectors, the portfolio of key industries in Shenyang is concentrated around the areas covering auto parts, IT, agricultural products deep processing, logistics and distribution, modern construction, equipment manufacturing, robotic intelligence, chemical medicine, and e-commerce.
