A flash mob was staged at Shuiting Gate, an iconic building in Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Jan 19 to celebrate the annual Lantern Festival, local media reported.
To the melodious sound of a saxophone, 20 local musicians sang the song of My Motherland and Me, a song expressing love for their motherland China, at the Shuiting Gate.
More than 10,000 people gathered for the dazzling light show nearby volunteered to join in the chorus while waving Chinese national flags and turning on their phone flashlights.
"It's so amazing!" said one of the participants after the flash mob. "I just can't help but to sing with other people."
Key participants of this show were members of the Quzhou Musicians Association, who were informed on the afternoon of the same day, and there was no time for them to rehearse.
The show was organized by the Quzhou Radio & TV Media Group and participated in by the Quzhou Musicians Association and publicity department of the Kecheng District Party Committee. It was also one of cultural activities designated by the publicity department of the Quzhou Municipal Party Committee in 2019.
