Kuitun-Dushanzi Economic and Technological Development Zone

The Kuitun-Dushanzi Economic and Technological Development Zone is composed of the Kuitun Economic and Technological Development Zone, which was established in 1992, and the Kuitun-Dushanzi Petrochemical Industrial Park, which was established in 2006. In April 2011, the development zone was upgraded to State level. In February 2012, it was authorized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a demonstration base for the country’s new-mode industrialization. It has also been listed by the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region as a major chemical base, a textile base, a manufacturing base for solar energy and a pilot zone for the integration of informatization and industrialization.

Located in the Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture, the zone has a planned development area of 113.38 square kilometers, which has been divided into four sections, namely the South Section, North One Section, North Two Section and the Kuidong industrial park. The South Section, taking up an area of about 20 square kilometers, focuses on the industries of petrochemicals and natural gas chemicals. The North One Section, covering 53.38 square kilometers, focuses on the industries of modern coal chemicals, metallurgy and warehousing logistics. The North Two Section, at 20 square kilometers, targets high-tech industry and the Kuidong industrial park, which takes up an area of 20 square kilometers, focus on metallurgy, the photovoltaic industry and textiles.
