The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government on Monday welcomed the promulgation of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by the central government.
The Macao SAR government is thankful to the central government for attaching great attention to and supporting Macao's involvement in the development of the Greater Bay Area and would study the plan well and work for its implementation, said a statement issued by the Macao SAR government information bureau.
The central government highly values the status of the Macao SAR and the role it can play and has sought the region's opinions in the course of the plan's formulation, the statement noted.
The Macao SAR government vowed to strictly follow the country's plan and work with other cities to leverage their comparative advantages in implementing the development plan of the Greater Bay Area, to create a better environment for Macao to achieve appropriately diversified economic development.
China on Monday issued the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The plan, an important outline document guiding the current and future cooperation and development of the Greater Bay Area, covers the period from now to 2022 in the immediate term and extends to 2035 in the long term.
