Better living environment
Dalian has worked towards creating a better living environment and solving the concerns that its residents have.
In the past year, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents grew by 7.8 percent and 8 percent respectively in Dalian, and the rise in the consumer price index (CPI) was kept within 3 percent. The registered urban unemployment rate was kept within 2.58 percent, creating 116,000 new jobs. A total of 15 public kindergartens, 30 private kindergartens, and three demonstrative high schools were built in 2018.
In addition, Dalian helped approximately 26 low-income villages out of poverty, as decided by the municipal government, achieving designated standards of poverty alleviation, along with the per capita disposable income reaching 13,623 yuan, an increase of 14.2 percent.
The city also continues to work on controlling and preventing environmental pollution. As a result, it had 317 days with good air quality in the past year, an increase of 17 days than the previous year.
