Guiyang and Germany forge manufacturing ties

Zhao Deming, secretary of the CPC Guiyang Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, met with Christian Engels, general manager of the Guangzhou office of German Industry and Commerce on Nov 17 to promote cooperation between the high-end manufacturing industries of both parties.

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is a key city along the Belt and Road and is strong in terms of natural environment, location, transportation, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The city is pushing a new round of opening-up in order to introduce more high-end manufacturing companies and form an industrial cluster. Zhao hopes the German Chambers of Commerce Worldwide Network (AHK) can learn more about Guiyang at the meeting and that the meeting will serve as a platform to help more German companies invest in Guiyang.

Engels said that AHK has great interest in inland cities in Southwest China, and finds Guiyang an attractive city to develop a high-end manufacturing industry. AHK and Guiyang share the same goal: to strengthen ties between Guiyang and German companies and lay a solid foundation for German investors looking to invest in Guiyang.
