The city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region saw a new record of booming tourists during the past Spring Festival holiday, according to a recent news release by a local media organization.
Statistics showed that the city received 970,000 tourists, including one-day tour visits, during the seven day holiday, a year-on-year increase of 10.05 percent.
The tourism revenue of Ordos generated during this year’s Spring Festival holiday reached 401 million yuan ($59.19 million), marking a year-on-year increase of 14.01 percent.
During the festival, various activities such as a an exhibition on intangible cultural heritages, a music concert, an exhibition of painting and calligraphic works, a temple fair, and a food festival took place in Ordos, adding great festive cheer to Chinese New Year.
