Yixing Economic and Technological Development Zone, set up in 2006 under the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, was upgraded to State level with the approval of the State Council in January 2013.
Located in northeast Yixing, a county-level city in Wuxi, Jiangsu, it covers a planning area of 70 square kilometers.
The zone has three main industrial clusters: photoelectric materials, new materials for photovoltaic solar energy, and advanced equipment manufacturing.
In 2016, the total industrial output of the zone reached 191.5 billion yuan ($28.31 billion) with its fiscal revenue reaching 6.2 billion yuan.
In the first half of 2018, its total industrial output above designated scale climbed 26.2 percent compared with that of last year and its revenue in public budgets increased 18.2 percent year-on-year.
