Langfang Export Processing Zone started construction in 2005 and began operation in 2008. In 2009, the zone was approved by the State Council to carry out bonded logistics, research, exanimation and maintenance services. In January 2018, the zone was upgraded into a State-level comprehensive bonded zone, the third of its kind in Hebei province, enjoying same taxation and foreign exchange policies as others.
The zone is expanding its business scope and services in order to support the Langfang Economic and Technological Development Zone and to seize the opportunity of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development.
A cross-border e-commerce project backed by JD.com is being constructed in the zone, with a total investment of 780 million yuan ($116.36 million).
