Mongolian milk tea lures Beijing tourists

A group of tourists from Beijing with an interest in Mongolian milk tea visited Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Feb 9, as part of a Spring Festival visit to sample their favorite drink.

The group went to meet Sun Guangqiang, who has made Mongolian milk tea for 20 years.

Mongolian milk tea is the perfect way to welcome visitors, said Sun.

Jiang Sixuan, a senior school student from Beijing, watched as Sun demonstrated the process of making the perfect cup of Mongolian tea.

With an interest in Mongolian culture, Jiang decided to visit the autonomous region to learn more about the area's tea culture.

Spring Festival is such a happy time and drinking milk tea really adds to the mood, said Sun.

Many tourists are interested in trying the tea, as well as learning about our unique prairie culture, she added.
