Construction for the Star Harbor International Center, also known as Shanghai North Bund "Twin Towers", was completed recently.
With a total surface area of 450,000 square meters, the center consists of two 263-meter tall main towers and business annexes as well as six underground floors. It will be built into the third Raffles City complex in Shanghai.
The two main towers have 17,500 square meters of rooftop gardens that will be open to the public all day, from where visitors can get a clear view of Luijiazui, the Bund, and the North Bund.
To reduce light pollution, the center used large glass curtain walls for its exterior facade, which will produce only 7 percent of reflectivity.
Also, ventilation systems are installed on each floor, close to the glass curtain wall and on the whole building's facade, to emulate natural ventilation.
The center can be reached by Metro lines 12 and 19 (under planning). It's also close to a 4,000-square-meter bus transport terminal.
The center is expected to officially open to the public in the second half of 2019.
