Alshaa League in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region welcomed a total of 142,000 tourists during the seven-day Spring Festival period from Feb 4 to Feb 10, according to local authorities.

The figure represents a year-on-year increase of 18.3 percent, with tourism revenues reaching 146.92 million yuan ($21.73 million), 14.4 percent increase from last year.

Dingyuan Camp Ancient Town in Alshaa Left Banner, Obo Mountain in Alshaa Right Banner, and Jiukeshu scenic spot were popular choices for tourists to visit.

To maintain a safe and orderly environment for tourists visiting Alshaa League, city officials increased security patrols and inspections at key tourist attractions, making special arrangements to ensure an adequate numbers of officials were on duty to handle complaints over the holiday.

In addition, libraries, museums, and the culture center of the league held various exhibitions to add more festive options during the Lunar New Year period.
