The first electronic toll collection (ETC) parking lot in Hunan province recently started operating at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport.
The parking lot is now offering four types of non-inductive payments, including Unionpay, Alipay, WeChat pay and ETC. Together with QR code-scanning, cash and bank card settlements, the parking lot now supports all possible types of payment.
Five ETC exclusive lanes were established at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Drivers can pass through and pay the fee without stopping.
WeChat payment services began on the same day, allowing drivers to be charged automatically after linking their WeChat account with their plate number and enabling the password-free function.
Li Honghao, manager of the parking lot, said that the smart parking system started operating in February 2018, ending the era of manual payments and saving time for drivers. The parking lot also extended parking time from 15 to 30 minutes and had provided services for 800,000 cars as of Jan 30, 2019. Benefiting from preferential policies, the parking lot has become more efficient and traffic around the airport has been greatly alleviated.
The Parking Service Center of Hunan Airport Industry Automobile Transport Company has upgraded the layout, guiding system, hardware, and environmental quality of the airport's parking lot.
Li added that this year the parking lot will continue to perfect its smart parking system, with the goal of providing an optimal experience to customers.
