Fujian to build 1,000 rural opera stages

The Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced on Tuesday that it will construct 1,000 opera stages, 100 cultural halls and 100 ancestral halls in rural areas within the year.

The move comes as part of the province's broader push to promote rural cultural vitalization.

Besides building facilities, the government also plans to compile rural cultural stories and organize a raft of characteristic activities to enhance public culture services in rural areas.
