A plan on improving the training and incentive mechanism of general practitioner was recently issued by the Hohhot municipal government.
The plan requires the municipal government to establish the training system to cultivate more general practitioners, also known as family doctors by 2020.
The city aims to arrange two or three qualified general practitioners for every 10,000 local residents.
By 2030, the government will improve the training and incentive system to increase the number of general practitioners for every 10,000 residents to five.
According to the plan, the reform aims at enhancing the training bases of family doctors, encouraging related medical staff to transfer their position as family doctors and improving the service throughout the city.
