Huaqing Palace (Huaqing Hot Spring & Lishan Mountain) scenic spot is located 30 kilometers to the east of Xi’an city, and is adjacent to the Terra Cotta Warriors, the well-known Eighth Wonder of the World. It was among the first National 5A-Grade Tourist Attractions, National Key Scenic Spots, National Key Cultural Relics Protection Sites and National Cultural Industry Demonstration Bases. The emperors of the Zhou Dynasty, Qin Dynasty, Han Dynasty, Sui Dynasty, and Tang Dynasty all established temporary palaces or villas in this place. It is well-known for its hot spring, the historical stories of Tricking the Marquesses with Beacon Fires, the love story between the Honored Consort Yang and the Quanzong Emperor and the Xi’an Incident and has become an iconic scenic spot of Tang Palace Culture tourism in China. The Huaqing Palace consists of many cultural sites like the Tang Dynasty Imperial Hot Spring Relics Museum, the Xi’an Incident site, Five Rooms Hall, the Jiulonghu Lake and Furonghu Lake scenic spots, the Tang Dynasty Pear Garden Relics Museum and many landmark buildings, such as Feishuang Hall, Wanshou Hall, Longevity Hall, Huan Garden and the Emperor Yu Palace. The altitude of Lishan Mountain is 1302 meters; the scenic spots include Laomu Hall, Laojun Hall, Beacon Tower, Remonstration Pavilion, Shiweng Temple and Yuxian Bridge. The sunset at Lishan Mountain is one of the “Eight Famous Scenic Spots in Guanzhong Plain”.
