A huge lantern installation became a highlight of the lantern show at Yuexiu Park during the Spring Festival due to its creative design and the fact that it was made from over 60,000 recycled plastic bottles.
Named "Beautiful Home", the large lantern displays natural scenery and promotes a low-carbon and green lifestyle. The plastic bottles are stuck together manually and the entire installation, which includes green trees, flowers, mountains and birds, covers an area of 400 square meters.

Admiring lanterns is a tradition among Guangzhou residents during the Spring Festival. Yuexiu Park kicked off its holiday lantern show with two themed exhibition areas featuring 56 large lantern sets, 30 lighting displays, and 15 flower displays.
During the Spring Festival, around 30 volunteers worked in Yuexiu Park every day to provide services for visitors. This year, a group of young volunteers from schools across Guangzhou explained the meaning and themes behind the different lanterns on display to tourists, allowing both Chinese and foreign tourists to better understand the profound nature of the lanterns.
"Our mission is to create a deeper appreciation for the lanterns among tourists. Their laughter and encouragement bring me great satisfaction," said Shen Xinlin, a young volunteer.
