The tourism revenue of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province surged 16.31 percent year on year during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, amounting to 3.4 billion yuan ($478 million), local media reported on Feb 11.
The coastal city entertained more than 2.92 million visitors from home and abroad, an 11.75 increase year on year, with Gulangyu Island the most popular destination, receiving more than 340,000 tourists during the seven-day break.
A dazzling array of travel themes were available in Xiamen, including cultural, coastal, countryside, parent-child and health care routes.
