A conference to lure investors and overseas talents, attended by more than 70 natives who had returned home during the Spring Festival holiday, was held in Ninghai county of Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Feb 9.
The conference saw eight projects with total investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($221.38 million) signed, including an autopilot radar project and an intelligent computer numerical control equipment project.
"Thanks to the government's quality services, I will finally launch a school for people with autism in my hometown," said Fang Jing, founder of Elimautism, an autism facility based in Qingdao, Shandong province.
Last year, Ninghai's GDP reached 60 billion yuan with a growth rate of 7.7 percent, ranking 32nd among the nation's counties.
Since 2018, Ninghai has released a raft of policies to support the private sector and has successfully reduced taxes of 1.67 billion yuan for local companies. It is striving to create a better business climate.
"We are sincerely looking forward to more talents and projects coming to Ninghai," Yang Yong, Party chief of the county said at the conference.
