A five dimensional light show made its debut over Xin'an Lake in Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Feb 4, the Lunar New Year's Eve, to celebrate the traditional Chinese festival and will last for 16 days.
The seven-minute light show includes two parts: courteous Quzhou residents and the Quzhou New year festival.
The show starts with pictures of Quzhou scenery and 24 Solar Terms and then as the Temple of Southern Confucianism gradually opens its gate, a statue of Confucius appears which is then transformed into Grandpa Nankong, a Q-version cartoon image of Confucius.
Then a phoenix flies over the Temple of Southern Confucianism with its feather spreading over the six display panels and then turns into six different paper cuttings.
Other typical Quzhou elements are also being displayed at the light show, including Wuju opera, Longyou Grottoes, Root Palace Buddhist Cultural Tourism Zone, and Quzhou Marathon.
One highlight of the show is that three sailboats each with two display panels stop over the Xin'an Lake to present the light show along with other onshore display panels.
In addition, Grandpa Nankong hit the Nasdaq screen in Times Square in New York, the United States on the same day to promote Quzhou around the world.
