The second-phase building project at Ordos Aquarium was opened to the public on Feb 1, giving local residents access to an improved aquarium with new species of fish to enjoy.
The aquarium now covers an area of more than 2,900 square meters, with over 3,000 cubic meters of water. It has 13 large tanks, with around 40 different types of fish, totaling around 2,000 species.
Compared with the previous aquarium which opened last year, the second-phase of the facility includes some truly exotic species, such as spotted seals, sharks and ox snouts.
The new aquarium also boasts the largest fish tank in West China, with the aquarium occupying a total area of measuring 800 square meters.
