Southwest China's Guizhou province successfully introduced the "Duocaibao Internet Plus People-Benefiting" online service throughout the entire province in 2018, making the lives of residents much more convenient.
"I have paid my water bills through the Duocaibao app for an entire year," said a Guizhou local surnamed Chen. She hailed the online service as a useful tool for paying her parents' living expenses, though she lives far away from them.
In January 2018, Guizhou decided that the Duocaibao service would be one of 10 new ways that the government would help improve people's lives. Residents can use the app to pay their water, power, gas, and digital TV bills, as well as other basic expenses, at any time and place.
As of Dec 31, 2018, statistics showed that over 11 million people had used the online service for things like paying living expenses, handling government affairs, using the housing service, and receiving life tips. The service has become the most popular in Guizhou, and has the widest coverage and most comprehensive functions in the province.
With the development of Internet Plus Government Affairs, more than 400,000 government services have been integrated into the Duocaibao app, from invoice issuance to poverty registration.
This year, the platform is expected to integrate more government and living services with the goal of improving people's happiness index, optimizing the province's business environment, and helping advance the development of a digital government.
