The Ministry of Education fine-tuned its policy in January 2019, making it easier for qualified Taiwan high school seniors to apply for universities in the mainland.
Students who obtained a certain score in any one of Chinese, mathematics or English subjects of Taiwan's college entrance examinations can apply and the enrollment decision of mainland universities will be based on that result plus up to three of their other results. Mainland universities can determine their own standards and requirements and set up an extra written exam or interview.
Applicants must have a Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents or a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, and valid proof of residency in Taiwan.
