The imports and exports of Quanzhou in East China's Fujian province recorded 185.37 billion yuan ($27.2 billion)in value last year, up 18.2 percent year-on-year, official statistics show.
The export volume amounted to 119.26 billion yuan, an increase of 14 percent while the imports soared by 26.7 percent to 66.11 billion yuan.
The city's foreign trade scale accounted for 15 percent of the total of Fujian, ranking it the third place in the province after Xiamen and Fuzhou.
Quanzhou's trade with its primary partners overseas embraced a great growth momentum in 2018.
The ASEAN, the EU and the US remained its top three exporting markets. The exports to the ASEAN expanded 29.7 percent year-on-year to stand at 27.58 billion yuan. The figures for the EU and US were 20.6 billion yuan and 18.95 billion yuan respectively.
Meanwhile, its imports from Saudi Arabia grew by 21.1 percent last year to 28.2 billion yuan.
Quanzhou's exports primarily were textiles, clothing, furniture, bags, shoes, plastic products and toys while it imported crude oil, mechanical and electrical products, high-tech products and soybeans.
