The expansion project for Sheshan Station on Metro Line 9, aimed at improving its overall capacity, was recently approved by the city development and reform department.
A 140-meter platform will be built allowing passengers to get off the train from both sides of the compartment.
Public space for the original waiting hall will be expanded as well to hold more passengers and for better dispersal during rush hours.
Auxiliary facilities to match the upgrade like the lighting system, elevators and fire control will be kept up at the same time.
A bus hub, set to open by the end of the year, will also be established to connect with the station. It will be designed with three bus lines and corresponding parking space.
