Zhaolin Park puts on a unique ice lantern show
As the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival's main event, the ice lantern show in Zhaolin Park is the oldest and largest outdoor ice lantern art exhibition in the world, and has become a traditional local project held every year from the beginning of January and lasting until the end of February.
More than 1,000 ice lanterns are exhibited at the 60,000 sq m park, where visitors can also entertain themselves with the outdoor theatre, roller skating rinks, a kids' amusement park, and a flower and fish exhibition hall where traditional Chinese snacks such as sugar-coated haw are available to be enjoyed.
The theme of this year's ice lantern show is a "Wonderful Garden 0n the Silk Road, and Ice and Snow on the North of the Great Wall". It consists of 2,002 ice sculpture pieces, created by skilled craftsmen, spread across 10 grand scenery zones that transform the park into a magical wonderland.
