The information Office of Jilin Provincial Government hosted the first press conference for the province's two sessions on Jan 27.
Representatives from seven provincial government departments and regions attended the press conference and outlined details of Jilin's "one key and six doubles" development plan.
The "one key" refers to a focus on developing Changchun into a central city in Northeast Asia.
The "six doubles" refer to two industrial corridors linking Changchun and surrounding areas; two economic belts linking China, Mongolia and Russia; two recommended routes for tourism; two different focuses for improving transportation; two new industrial centers, and two areas of coordinated development.
The two corridors involve building an industrial corridor linking Changchun and surrounding areas and a medical and healthcare industrial corridor in Jilin province.
The two economic belts will be an open economic belt along the border, as well as through the area where China, Mongolia and Russia meet.
Two tourist routes will have different focuses, with one designed to boost ice and snow tourism, and the other geared toward grassland and wetland areas.
To improve transportation in the province, officials will concentrate on two different channels of development.
The two bases will involve building a national-level innovation and entrepreneurship center in Changchun, and a national high-tech industrial base in Baicheng city.
And efforts at coordinated development will focus on integrated cooperative development between Changchun and Jilin province, as well as between Changchun and Gongzhuling city.
The development planning indicates Jilin province's major projects over the next year and its efforts to revitalize Northeast China.
