A medical insurance app recently started a trial operation in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province.
The app is the first of its kind in the central and northern part of Jiangsu province and provides four kinds of services: paying for medical treatments and medicine, obtaining public medical information, managing personal medical information, as well as obtaining insurance.
People who are covered by the country's basic medical insurance can use the app to register, pay medical bills, check examination results, search for relevant laws and information, and apply for commercial health insurance programs.
The app is currently used in the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, the First People’s Hospital of Nantong, Tongzhou People’s Hospital and Nantong Chengxin Pharmacy in Haier Lane.
According to a staff member at the city’s medical insurance center, more than 2,000 medical institutes and 4,000 pharmacies will join the trial operation soon after, bringing more convenience to local residents.
