A professional government big data committee made up of 20 experts from scientific research institutions, universities, government departments and companies was established at the National Technical Standard Innovation Center in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 22.
The National Technical Standard Innovation Center was established last September, making Guizhou the first province in China with such a center.
According to the construction plan, three National Technical Standard Innovation Centers in Guiyang, the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and the Guiyang National Economic and Technological Development Zone will cover 22 key companies and institutions involved in the big data industry.
As one of 14 professional committees established by the centers, the new government big data committee will organize academic exchanges, and promote the establishment of big data standards and an effective system of government.
