Shanghai has plans to introduce 500 new brand shops and hold 500 new product launch activities this year, according to the city's meeting on commercial works held recently.
This year, the city's commercial departments will take a series of measures to stimulate consumption and improve consumers' shopping experience.
Four districts – Pudong, Huangpu, Jing'an and Xuhui – have been selected as demonstration models for new product launches. Transformation and renovation projects will also be launched to upgrade shopping malls and leisure spaces in the districts.
The city will accelerate the development of high-class commercial areas, such as the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall, by opening more lifestyle experience shops and imported commodities stores. A group of high-class time-honored brands will be further developed.
Besides, the shopping environment will be regulated by setting service standards and promoting advanced after-sales services.
