A production center for edible mushrooms in Tian'e county, Hechi city was recently designated as a modern characteristic core demonstration zone by the Guangxi government and was given four-star certification.
Tian'e county is located in Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and is rich in agricultural resources.
The 50-million-yuan ($7.3-million) production center covers an area of 3,300 mu (220 hectares) across nine towns and townships, and generated 20 million yuan in revenue last year. More than 2,700 villagers reside within the production center and the rise in status has increased their employment opportunities.
