The state-owned railway giant China Railway Corporation (CRC) recently reviewed the feasibility report of the Zhanjiang-Hai'an Railway compiled by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co Ltd.
Costing a total of 14.4 billion yuan ($2 billion), the rail line will be designed to support a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It will start from Zhanjiang West Railway Station and end at Hai'an Railway Station, having a total length of 130 kilometers.

After on-site investigations of Zhanjiang West Railway Station, Leizhou Railway Station, Nandu River Bridge, Xuwen Railway Station and the North Port of the Guangdong-Hainan Railway Station, a panel of experts affirmed that the major design concepts and overall technical standards of the railway are reasonable and appropriate.
A conference was held in Haikou to solicit opinions from China Railway Guangzhou Group Co Ltd, Hainan Railway Co Ltd, and government officials.
Up next, China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co Ltd will advance the project in accordance with the feedback from the expert panel, preparing it for final approval of the feasibility report.
