Southwest China's Guizhou province will hold the 29th China Orchid Expo in Huishui county, Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, from Feb 23 to 26.
The annual China Orchid Expo is the most influential orchid event in China. It will exhibit boutique orchids, agricultural and forestry products, Huishui's achievements in poverty alleviation, orchid-themed calligraphy, paintings, and photography. It will promote the flower and seedling industry of Qiannan area.
The expo will set up special exhibition halls for provinces, companies and award-winning orchids. Representatives of flower associations and orchid enthusiasts will attend the orchid industrialization forum to admire the various orchids.
Qiannan plans to use the expo as an opportunity to develop its orchid industry and integrate agriculture, culture and tourism.
Huishui is the origin of Hao Hua Hong ("red flowers"), a Bouyei ethnic group's folk song with a history of hundreds of years, and a great place for flower planting. Its agricultural industry is expected to increase people's income and rid the county of poverty.
