An unveiling and naming ceremony for a 20,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container ship was held at the No 1 dock of Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd (DACKS) in Dalian, North China's Liaoning province, on Jan 11.
The ship, named Pisces, is one of the largest container ships ever built in China, measuring 400 meters long and able to carry up to 197,000 tons of cargo.
It is able to carry a large volume of cargo, but maintain a low rate of fuel consumption. The vessel also has a smart management system and is highly adaptable.
According to local media reports, the ship will provide direct services to major ports in China, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
