Government funds amounting to 191 million yuan ($28.14 million) earmarked to boost scientific and technological innovation in the autonomous region have been disbursed in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region in 2018, according to Baotou Daily.
The figure represented a year-on-year growth of 15 percent. Of that sum 50,266 million yuan were provided by the city of Baotou.
In 2018, the finance bureau of Baotou city actively assisted innovative enterprises, institutions, and research institutes in applying for scientific and technological innovation grants, resulting in a total of 141 million yuan of science and technology innovation funds being granted in the autonomous region.
The funds were used for supporting the development of industries including modern equipment manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, information technology, agriculture, and health care.
