Construction work has started on the Dahongtang Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park Project, which is one of 116 key government projects, in Jiuyuan district, Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to the bureau of commerce in Jiuyuan district.
A total of 100 million yuan ($15.54 million) is expected to be spent on the new facility, with projected annual revenues expected to come in between 400 and 500 million yuan once it has been operating for five years.
And there will be significant benefits for people living in the local area, with some 2,000 jobs expected to be created by the park.
At present, a cross-border e-commerce incubator has been completed, and trial operations are already underway. Exterior decoration of the main building has also started, with goods starting to be stocked ready for full trading.
The facility’s smart-eco retail block is expected to be fully open from the end of January.
