An event designed to show off the best of Hohhot's traditional culture was launched at Monishan Town, Huimin district, in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Jan 13.
Dragon dance and shehuo shows (typical of folk customs celebrating traditional Chinese New Year) were highlights of the opening ceremony, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere.
The event, starting as a prelude to local Spring Festival celebrations, will conclude on March 8.
Visitors are set to be treated to 23 exciting activities, including exhibitions, live performances, a month-long food festival and shopping opportunities.
