CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co Ltd, a company based in Changchun, Northeast China’s Jilin province, launched a new subway train on Jan 13.
The train will become the first to serve the initial phase of Hohhot’s Metro Line 1, in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
With six carriages, it is able to run at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour, and has capacity for up to 2,062 passengers.
Adopting the most advanced technologies, the train is both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, without compromising on passenger comforts.
It has even been given ox horn-shaped headlights in a nod to the culture of Inner Mongolia.
As a national key company for the R&D of railway vehicles, manufacturing, overhauls and exports, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles has manufactured more than 8,000 urban railway vehicles and exported products to over 20 countries and regions.
